Program update, August 2025
After six years and 31 applied research Fellowship awards, the College of Built Environment’s Applied Research Consortium (ARC) completed its final program year in Spring 2025. We thank our industry partners DLR Group, GGN, Mithun, NBBJ, ZGF, and Turner for making possible this university-industry partnership. We invite you to review our People pages to see the many individuals who participated in the research consortium, and our Projects pages to see the reports and other deliverables produced by our ARC Fellows.
Moving forward, the college will continue to work in partnership with our community and industry partners through other programs, applying what we learned from the ARC program for mutual benefit and impact.
Imagine a future where research and practice are
seamlessly integrated in shaping our built environment.
The Applied Research Consortium (ARC) is rooted in the idea that collaboration across academia and industry will accelerate progress in our fields. ARC brings together an interdisciplinary group of built environment firms with faculty experts and graduate student researchers at the University of Washington’s College of Built Environments (CBE) to address the most vexing challenges that firms face today. The next generation of practitioners and scholars apply their creativity and knowledge of the latest scholarship and practices, accelerating progress and preparing for future work at the leading edge of our fields.
